Host Institution:

The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI – University of Lugano) is a dynamic and young university founded in 1996. It is made up of four Faculties (Architecture, Economics, Communication, and Informatics), with a strong and continuous commitment to public communication studies. Since 2008 it is one of the partners of the Swiss Public Administration Network (SPAN), aiming to develop and promote the studies of public administration in Switzerland. With a student population of around 3,000, 60% of which made up of international students from more than 100 different countries, USI is able to merge both the advantages of a small university with that of an international one. Its courses (in Italian and English) cover the whole gamut from Bachelor’s to PhD degree programs.

The USI Institute for Public Communication focusses its teaching and research on political communication, the communication of public institution and non-profit bodies, the psychology of interpersonal communication, social marketing, public communication law and intercultural communication.
